Our first couple of days here in Kobe were filled with many new experiences, customs, and new friends.
Even the restrooms had some strange new things!
We woke up at about 7:30 AM Kobe time and started the day off with an exquisite breakfast from the quality inn hotel. It was served "viking" or buffet style and included both American and Japanese dishes. There were eggs, sausages, miso soup, smoked salmon?, rice, and a variety of Japanese beverages.
We then headed to the Kobe university at around 11AM where we were graciously greeted by the staff and fellow pharmacy students. They took our group around campus for a short tour of the grounds. It was amazing to learn about how our customs differ. Apparently, the Japanese do not have technicians and the pharmacist does all the work! They haven't told us all the details yet, but I'm sure we will see them in action later.
But that view though...
After our lunch party we ventured to Sannomiya shopping district where we saw many Japanese shops, took pictures, and of course: tried RAMEN!!!!
This is probably my favorite food now. Not even exaggerating.
More to come!!!

Ramen is my favorite, too. Which place did you go to?
ReplyDeleteI don't remember the name, but we went to this place on the corner next to a taiyaki place. Any time we see ramen this whole trip, we need to get some!
DeleteThere's lots of ramen places. There are 2 near Sannomiya station I like. One is a stand-up ramen bar, and the other is on a corner near the shrine, with a dragon on the sign.
